Ronald (Ron) A. Mascarenas

Ronald (Ron) A. Mascarenas began his new journey with our heavenly Father on June 5, 2017 at the age of 66. He was a 1969 graduate of St. Michael’s High School and went on to DeVry University in Arizona. He later returned to N.M. and received his certification in Electronics. Ron worked for the NM Dept. of Transportation for a brief time. He then followed his dream and his father’s footsteps and went into the field of carpentry. He was a proud member of the Southwestern Regional Carpenters Union. He was known for his amazing ability to build beautiful furniture and there was never a woodworking project that he couldn’t master. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing poker with his family, and playing Scratchers. Ron had a heart of gold and his kindness always made a lasting impression on all who met and knew him. He will be forever in our hearts and greatly missed and loved. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents David and Manuelita Mascarenas, maternal grandparents Felix and Josefita Lujan, father, Paul Mascarenas, fiancée, Prescilla Sena, niece, Amanda Maez and nephew, Matthew Maez. Ron was blessed with and survived by two wonderful children, daughter Stacy Sandorsky and granddaughter, Oliva of Amarillo, TX and son Ron Mascarenas Jr. (Victoria and son Ramon) and grandson Efren Mascarenas. His loving mother, Viola Mascarenas. Sisters; Janice Maez, Paula Roybal (Eddy) and Valerie Gallegos (Brian). Nephews; Stephen Maez (girlfriend Maricruz), Shawn and Justin Roybal. Nieces; Aaliyah Gallegos, Jaylene Maez and dear friends Anthony Maez, Joe, Anita, Priscilla, Makayla, and Isabella Sena; George, Vanessa, and Renee Miller, and Johnny Ortiz. A rosary and mass will be held at Santa Maria De La Paz on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 9:00 AM, followed by a Christian burial at Rosario Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Rivera Family Funeral Home.
