Rose Ada Gonzales, age 94, of Taos, NM a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother went to be with the Lord on the evening of Monday, July 3, 2023. Rose was born on October 1928, in Chamisal, New Mexico to Jose Paz Lopez and Leonarda Lopez. Rose was one of twelve children. On June 25, 1949, she married the love of her life, Flavio Gonzales in Taos. They had three children: Irene Rodriguez, Phillip Gonzales and George Gonzales. She received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Albuquerque in May of 1978. She worked at Sandia National Laboratories from 1956- 1985 where she held many positions. Rose loved the Lord above all else and lived each day as a faithful woman. A loving mother, Rose loved cooking and spending time with her family. She was known for her strong independent spirit, loving nature and unselfish generosity. She read the Bible and studied scripture in her spare time. She loved to pray and share stories from the Bible with her great grandchildren any chance she could get. Rose’s cooking was wellknown, and nobody ever left her house hungry. She took advantage of any opportunity she had to spend with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents Jose and Leonarda; husband Flavio; sisters Fabiola Dominguez, Bertha Maestas, Betty Arrant, Minnie Vigil; brother, Leroy Lopez; and nephew raised as a brother, Jake King. She is survived by her daughter Irene; sons Phillip (Kathy) and George; 8 grandchildren Sean Salvador, Addam (Samantha) JaramilloGonzales, Aubrey Salvador, Carissa (Brandon) Aday, Andres Gonzales, Adrian Gonzales, Joshua Gonzales and Ayanna Gonzales; 5 great grandchildren Madelyn Aday, JaeLynn Jaramillo-Gonzales, Gavin Aday, Rory Aday, and Remington Jaramillo-Gonzales; sisters, Naomi (Juan) Elizondo, Bella (Valerio) Armijo; brothers Jose (Eulogia) Paz Lopez Jr., Paul (Teresa) Lopez; and a niece raised as a sister, Dorothy Gonzales.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, July 15th at 2 pm at Shepherd of the Valley Presbyterian Church at 1801 Montaño Rd NW in Albuquerque. Her burial will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Monday, July 17th at 2 pm. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Phillip Gonzales, George Gonzales, Sean Salvador, Addam Jaramillo-Gonzales, Andres Gonzales, Joshua Gonzales and Adrian Gonzales
