Rosella Jaramillo

Rosella (Chella) Jaramillo Rosella passed away peacefully at her home in Albuquerque on October 7. She was born on May 21, 1932 in Questa, NM to Florencio Montoya and Patrocinia Arellano. She grew up in Questa where she met Fred Jaramillo, to whom she was married from October 25, 1947, until he passed on February 16, 1997. Fred was a well known and respected building and plumbing contractor in the Questa/ Red River area for many years. Rosella supported the business greatly, for example, by maintaining the books and records. Together, they raised four daughters and a son in Questa and now have thirteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.Chella was loved and will be remembered fondly by her many friends and family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her four brothers: Ismael (wife, Ofrecinia), Pete (Oclides), Fidel (Minnie) and Filomeno (Vera); her sister, Adelires Gonzales (husband, George), her grandson, Brian Jaramillo and great granddaughter, Renee Sedillo. Rosella is survived by her children: Belen Ortega, Doris Jaramillo, Alicia Dimas, Pauline Whitaker (husband, Frank), and Fred Jaramillo Jr. Also she is survived by sisters in law, Faye Mossman, Mercedes Jaramillo and Antonia Jaramillo; and, by brothers in law Bill Mossman and Modesto Cisneros. Her surviving granddaughters are Rosalie Hipple (husband Brian), Francine Sedillo (Michael), Valerie Estrada (Kino), Michelle Gaillour, and Jessica Jaramillo. Her surviving grandsons are Anthony Cordova, Jacob Cordova, Peter Cordova, Frank Jason Ortega, Ron Segura (wife Gina), Robert Montoya, John Ryan Montoya and Fred Jaramillo III. Her grandsons (including Brian, in spirit) will be the pallbearers at her funeral. Her surviving great granddaughters are: Melissa and Rachel Hipple, Kimberly and LeAnn Gallegos, Elianna and Victoria Segura and Kylie Ortega. Her great grandsons are Nicholas Ortega, Gabriel Sedillo, Joshua Medina, and Jacob Cordova II. Rosary was held on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 7 PM at St. Antony Catholic Church in Questa.. A funeral mass was held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 10 AM with interment to follow at El Pueblito Cemetery.
