Rosemary Garcia

RoseMary Garcia 81, life time resident of Ojo Caliente passed away on May 30, 2019. She was born on August 18, 1937 in Coyote, New Mexico. Her parents are Lazaro and Adelia Romero. RoseMary was preceded in death by her spouse, Diego “Willie” Garcia; daughter, Amy Rodriquez; sons, Genaro Garcia and Julian Garcia: Parents, Lazaro Romero and Adelia Romero; and ten brothers and sisters. Mrs. Garcia is survived by her brother, Daniel Romero (Espanola); daughters, EmmaLee Garcia of Gavilan/Ojo Caliente, Chrystine Medina (Jesus) of Ridgecrest, CA, Jeannette Garcia (Kemmer Croff) of Gavilan/Ojo Caliente; son, LeRoy Garcia (Ofelia) of San Diego, CA. She raised seven children, proud grandmother of fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. RoseMary was very close to many of her grandkids. She is survived by many family and friends. Mrs. Garcia was employed by a laundry mat in Leadville, CO, The Lodge in Vail, CO, McDonald’s in Los Alamos and Espanola, NM for twenty years, her last job was with Dandy's Burger in Espanola, NM. She was a Guadalupana and president of the Senior Center. RoseMary loved going to the Senior Center, loved to dance, she loved to cook for her family and anyone who stopped by her house. Everyone loved her cookies and tortillas. She loved to play bingo. She was was queen, on numerous occasions, of the Senior Center Valentine’s Day dance. She loved to garden and can everything and make jelly. She was spoiled by all her brothers and her children. Serving as pallbearers are Jerome, Jeremy, and Jessie Broyles, Marc Medina, Eric Sanchez, and Gilbert Ferran. Rosary will be held on Thursday June 6, 2019 at 7:00 PM at the Rivera Family Funeral Home 305 Calle Salazar in Espanola, NM. On Friday June 7, Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ojo Caliente, NM with interment to follow at the Cemetery.
