Rosina Garcia
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother on Sunday, October 29, 2017.
Rosina “Rusie” Garcia was born in Agua Fria Village, NM on November 17, 1928. She was the youngest born to Luis D. and Susana B. Romero. She grew up in Agua Fria Village along with two brothers and two sisters. On her birthday in 1952; Rusie married the love of her life, Daniel Garcia. They were married for 59 ½ wonderful years until his passing in 2012. They went on to have two loving daughters, Linda and Susie.
Rusie was witty and full of life, loved to laugh, loved music and dancing, cooking delicious meals and was well known for her fabulous tortillas. Teaching us unconditional love is what she really did best. Loving her family was Rusie’s passion. She loved visiting with and cooking for her family. Some of us were lucky to have her make tortillas on a weekly basis! She had many talents; sewing, crocheting, embroidering, cooking, and adult coloring. She loved working on jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, and find-a-word puzzles. She blessed all of us with gifts of quilts, crocheted afghans, and embroidered towels. We will remember how much she loved getting together with family and playing cards (poker and Skip-Bo), visiting Las Vegas, Laughlin, and the local casinos. She loved the many summer weekends that she spent with family and close friends, camping in Pecos, NM and other beautiful camping grounds in the mountains of NM. Rusie touched the hearts of so very many!
Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, sisters, and their spouses: Joe B. and Rita Romero, Emma and Moises Serrano, M.B. (Maggie) and Esther Romero, and Ruby and Henry Chavez; special nieces, Geneva Chavez and Evie Paulus.
Rusie leaves behind the family she loved so much; daughters - Lindy Tijerina and husband Daniel; Susie Gonzales.
