Rosinaldo Cordova

December 7, 1934 — December 26, 2017

Rosinaldo “Ross” Cordova 83, a resident of Chamisal went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 26, 2017. Rosinaldo left at the young age of 20 to serve in the United States Navy for 8 years. After that, he moved back to New Mexico where he worked in construction until he retired. Ross enjoyed watching all kinds of sports on TV. He enjoyed going to the mountains for wood with his buddy Roy and slamming a few beers. Another one of his favorite pass times was going to the casino. Tio Ross will be dearly missed by everyone near and dear to him. Ross was born on December 7, 1934 to Jose Victor and Eloisa Cordova in Chamisal. He is preceded in death by his parents Jose Victor and Eloisa Cordova, his brothers Macario, Felix, and Joe Cordova, sisters Rebecca Fujino, Laura Abeyta, and Linora Pacheco. Mother of his daughters, Dorothy “Dot” Cordova, Brother in-law Russ Fujino and other relatives. Ross is survived by his three daughters Rossanne, Sharon, and Jennifer Cordova, 5 grandkids, and 9 great grandkids, all of New Jersey. He is also survived by his life long companion of 35 years, Lillian Lopez of Rodarte, and all of her family which he had a special bond with. Sisters Olivama Pacheco of Chamisal, Maclovia Fresquez (Anslemo) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Rosana Abeyta (Juan) of Chamisal, Dina Duran (Robert) of Penasco, Brothers in-law Jose Pacheco, and Paul Abeyta, and sister in-law Vicky Cordova and other nieces, nephews, and friends. Two special stepchildren who were very close and dear to Ross and were there for him in his time of need were Roy Lopez and Anna Martinez. Also Special thanks to Espanola Valley Nursing Home and Amber Care for all of their help. Services for Rosinaldo Cordova are as follows, a Rosary will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 7:00 pm at the San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Penasco, mass will be on Wednesday, January 3 at 11:00 am followed by burial in the Chamisal Catholic Cemetary. After the burial, everyone is invited to break bread with the family at the Chamisal Fire Department.
