Roy C. Abeyta

Roy C. Abeyta, 69, was born in Arroyo Seco, New Mexico, July 09, 1955, Roy passed away suddenly in the comfort of his own home on December 12, 2024.

Restored: Rust to Riches 

A giant heap of junk - 

Thrown out and left to rust. Laid out in his garage - No chance to gather dust. 

Brand new at one time - And driven here and there. A project for a man - Who’s wrecked his own fair share.

He pieced, he sanded - He painted all brand new. He polished, he waxed - His love; it showed right through. 

This is what he knew - 

And he occupied his days. With blood sweat and tears - 

It took his pains away. 

Just like that old car - 

Once just a pile of rust. That man who worked so hard - Had risen from the dust. 

Something out of nothing - He showed us with his hands. Another restored wrecked car - a complex and loving man! 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Abeyta Jr. and Ofelia Abeyta, and his sister, Faviola Abeyta.

He is survived by his loving wife Karen Abeyta, daughters, Roxanne (Dan) Jaecks, Josephine (Patrick) Gabaldon, Claudia Abeyta (Victor), sister, Ida McCabe, brothers, : Archie Abeyta, Rudy (Margo) Abeyta, Alex (Eileen) Abeyta, grandchildren, Stacy Johnson (Terrance), Kevin Johnson, Avery Jaecks, Zoe Gabaldon, Jayden Vigil, Cora Gabaldon, Brody Gabaldon, Ryan Torres, Kylee Torres, Ezra Torres, nieces, Charlene Lucero, Gina Rael, Angela Abeyta, Maria Stafford, Linda Minkoff, and Jennifer Abeyta.

Pallbearers are as follows: Zeke Tafoya, Charlie Rendon, Kevin Johnson, Jayden Vigil, Brody Gabaldon, Dan Jaecks, Patrick Gabaldon, Terrance Baca, Victor Torres, and Ryan Torres.

Public viewing will be held Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 10:30AM at The Good News Christian Fellowship Church in Ranchitos, NM. Memorial service will be at 11:00AM with interment to follow at the Las Cruces Cemetery.
