Ruben Mendez, 19, passed away on March 08, 2021. He was born on July 04, 2001 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Sylvia Mendez and Ruben Gaytan.

He is preceded in death by his great grandfather; Sabino Martinez, uncle; Sam Martinez, cousins; Roseanne Gallegos, Lisa Gallegos and Brian Martinez, aunt; Jasmine Gaytan, godfather; Victor Gaytan Gomez, great grandfather; Mariano Gaytan.

He is survived by his mother; Sylvia Martinez (mm), his father; Ruben Gaytan, brothers; Aiden Martinez, Christopher Gaytan, sisters; Anahi Salinas, Katy Gaytan, Ruby Gaytan and Guadalupe Gaytan, maternal grandparents; Ramiro Mendez and Anna Mendez, paternal grandparents; Jose Ruben Gaytan and Olga Gaytan, great grandmother; Louisa Martinez, aunts; Ebelin Gaytan, Kelly Gaytan and Melissa Mendez, uncle; Juan Mendez and various other family members.

Serving as pallbearers; Juan Mendez, Santiago Gonzalez, Michael Mata, Joshua Lawrence, Jared Gallegos and Dominic Quintana.

A Rosary will be recited on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at Rivera Kiva Chapel of Light located at 417 E Rodeo Road, Santa Fe, NM.

Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Church in Santa Cruz followed by Interment at Nuestra Senora del Carmen Cemetery.
