Ruby Garcia Gallegos Valdez, 81 went to be with our Lord on December 16th, 2022.
Ruby was born in Santa Fe, NM, to Marcelino and Rufina Garcia on May 17, 1941. Ruby is preceded in death by her parents; brother Daniel Garcia; second husband Harold Valdez; granddaughter Jenae Gallegos, and Godson Gabriel Salazar. She is survived by four sisters; Mary Ortiz, Frances Garcia, Tessie Lopez, Rose (Rosie) and husband Mike Mikulecky; sister in Christ Angie Allen; ex-husband David Gallegos; son Tim Gallegos; daughter-in-law Sandra Gallegos; grandsons Jordan and Joel Gallegos; Godsons Mark Lopez and Kevin Mikulecky; and Godchild/caregiver John Rael; and many nieces and nephews.
Ruby loved to crochet, and bake. During her lifetime, she gifted many of her creations to family and friends. For many years Ruby baked thousands of empanadas and biscochitos for one of Santa Fe’s local restaurants.
Ruby was a devoted Christian, teacher, and councilor of God’s word. Ruby loved to attend church, and read the bible. She prayed devotedly for those she cared for most and for a time sang in the church choir. She is greatly missed.
Services will be held at City of Faith Christian Fellowship located at 4001 Lucia Lane, Santa Fe, NM 87507, on January 4th, 2023 at noon.
Ruby will be buried next to her granddaughter Jenae Gallegos at Santa Fe Memorial Gardens, 417 East Rodeo Road, Santa Fe, NM 87505. The burial is at 2:30 PM.
