Rudy F. Garcia, 81, of Cerro passed away on October 10, 2015. He was the son of the late Acorcinio and Edulia Garcia. He retired from Fort Carson Hospital Civil Service and the Questa schools. He was known for his welcoming smile, his witty and sometimes over the top sense of humor. He loved to play practical jokes on people. (and there are many stories about that). His passion was his love for the Lord and teaching boxing to the youth in his boxing club. He is preceded in death by his son, Kenny, sisters, AnnaMarie and Dolores and brother, Max. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Abbie, daughter, Susie Chavaria, sons, Daniel (Jewel), Mark, Paul (Marie) and Rudy Jr. (Patricia). He is also survived by his siblings, Cecilia (Moses), Acorcinio Jr., Ralph (Mary), Gene, Johnny (Cora), Eleanor, JoAnn, Leona (Raphael), numerous grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Rudy will be remembered lovingly by many dear friends. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Taos Hospice Care, the Questa Health Center and the Questa Schools.
Memorial service was held on October 14, 2015. Funeral Service was held on October 15, 2015. Both services were held at Buen Pastor/Living Word Church. Interment followed at the Cerro Cemetery.
