RUDOLFO “RUDY” L. VIGIL

Rudy L. Vigil Santa Fe – Rudy Vigil was called to be with our Lord on the morning of October 11, 2023, at the age of 87.  He passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his family.  Rudy was born in Santa Fe on April 18, 1936.  He is survived by his loving wife Maria, daughter Isabelle (John), 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandson.  Siblings; Ernest and Angie Vigil.  Rudy is preceded in death by his parents, Hipolito and Virginia Vigil, children David, Rebecca Gonzales, and Rudy.  Siblings George, Arthur, Bengie, Cecilia Contreras, and Frances Jordan.  Rudy graduated from UNM with a PhD in Pharmacy in 1973.  He went on to own the Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy on E. Palace Ave. and later went on to work as a pharmacist with Walgreens and retired in 2013.  Rudy helped anyone who needed his help, was a kind and gentle person, and loved his family above all.  A special thank you to his Hospice nurse, Barbara.  She was wonderful during our time of need. “Say not in grief ‘he is no more’ but in thankfulness that he was.”

A rosary will be recited on October 31, 2023, at 9:30 am, followed by the funeral mass at 10:00 am at Cristo Rey Catholic Church with Interment at Rosario Cemetery.
