Rudy Martin Wilcox
May 14, 1928 – April 16, 2008
Rudy Martin Wilcox 78 years old was born on Wednesday May 14 1928 in Marfa, Texas to Andres Rudolph and Consuelo Wilcox. He moved to Carlsbad, NM as an infant and lived there till his early twenty's.
Rudy enlisted in the Air force and served in Alaska; a mechanic by trade. 'He returned to Carlsbad, NM and worked for Roger Logan's "Ford Town". He coined the phrase "What a great, great guy". Rudy taught his trade to anyone who was interested and is responsible for several successful mechanics today.
He moved to Santa Fe, NM in the late 70's. Rudy made friends easily and everyone knew him as their personal "Uncle Rudy".
He is preceded in death by his father, Andres Rudolf Wilcox, Brother Johnny Mendoza.
He is survived by his mother Consuelo Valenzuela of Oxnard, California. His daughter Katherine Dixon and husband Neil of Carlsbad, NM. Granddaughters Stacey Lott and husband Nicholas of Carlsbad, NM. Nichole Juarez and husband Jose of Carlsbad, NM. Brittney VanCuren and husband; Devin of Carlsbad, NM. Kristin Dixon of Carlsbad, NM. Great grandson Mason W. Lott and two more great grandchildren on the way.
Sister Faye Flores of Lakewood California, Mary Orta and husband Raymond of Oxnard California, Nephew Alfred and Barbara Leos of Santa Fe, NM Several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Rudy truly will be missed.
A graveside service will be conducted at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 23, 2008.25
