Ruth Martinez

d. November 6, 2013

Ruth D. Martinez, age 50, born April 11, 1963, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, following a brief illness, with her husband, Marcos, by her side. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Ramon B. and Criselda Dominguez; her brother and sister-in-law, Ramon and Maria Dominguez, by her parents-in-law, Pacifico and Louisa Martinez; brother-in-law, Augustine Martinez; maternal and paternal grandparents, and other family members. Ruth, or Ruthlsss/Buzz as she liked to be called, was a friend to all, liked to joke, and made friends wherever she happened to be. She served in the medical field with Northern New Mexico Orthopedics as a medical biller. Ruth also served her country by serving in the US Army where we knew she was a cook and sharp shooter. She served her church by being a dedicated member and serving as mayordomo for Santo Tomas in Abiquiu. Ruth was an advocate for education and donated to the scholarship fund at Northern New Mexico College, wherein she received her Bachelors of Art in Accounting and Business Administration. She was a recipient of many awards as well. Ruth enjoyed being a political ally to those who she believed would do the best they could and you would always see her on election days supporting the candidate of her choice with a poster and wearing her candidates t-shirt. She will be dearly missed and has left a void in the hearts of her husband, her family and the many friends that called her Ruthlessss. Ruth is survived by her husband and best friend of 20 years, Marcos J. Martinez; her children, Kenny (Daisy) Allen of Maryland; Adrian (fiancé, Farrah) Allen of North Carolina; and Russell Allen of Minnesota; her siblings: Rachelle Dominguez; Ryan (Jeanette) Dominguez; Rodney (Nancy) Dominguez; Randy Dominguez, Renee (John) Espinoza; Richard Dominguez; Robin (Miguel) Nevarez; Russell (Cemele) Dominguez; Ralph Dominguez; Edith (Armando) Trujillo; in-laws: Rudy (Celine) Martinez; Reynaldo Martinez; Patricia (Philipe) Chavarria; Gregorita Black three grandchildren: Criselle and Brielle Dominguez and Sofia Allen; Tia Lydia Jordan, best friends, Sarah Chavez, Samantha Herring and Juanita; numerous nieces, nephews, family (Atencio family and Contreras family) and friends. Recitation of the rosary was Monday, November 11, 2013, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Abiquiu. The mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, also in the church in Abiquiu and interment followed at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
