Sally Garcia

Sally Garcia, 82, a resident of Fairview, New Mexico, was called to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 10, 2016 while surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonardo and Basilisa Bustos from Cebolla, New Mexico, her brothers, Jose Hilario Bustos, Fernandez Bustos, Leonardo “Leo” Bustos, and her sister Margaret Maez. A son Edwin Johnson, grandson, Jason Johnson, a dear granddaughter, Robin Padilla, a son-in law, Robert Padilla and brother in law Cresencio “Chris” Garcia. Sally is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jose Fidencio “Chonque” Garcia of Fairview; her son Joe F. “Junior” Garcia (Datra), daughters; Ida Baldonado (Harvey), Cindy Varela (Ross), Lisa Padilla (Johnny), Roberta Padilla (Andrew), Jennifer Chavez (Andrew), 11 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren, a brother Orlando Bustos (Lupe) of Las Cruces, brother in-law, Toby Garcia (Carmen), sister in-law, Mary Garcia and many loved nieces, nephews and cousins. Sally was born in Cebolla, New Mexico in 1934. She was a homemaker and raised her children as well as helped raise her grandchildren. Sally loved spending quality time with her entire family, she loved music and was an avid listener of KDCE radio. Sally loved to dance, especially the Jitter Bug. When sally attended Tierra Amarilla high school, she was a star basketball player and a member of the cheer-leading squad. Every football season, Sally looked forward to rooting for her favorite football team, the Denver Broncos. Sally enjoyed attending the local parades. The Española Christmas Light parade was her favorite. Visitation will commence on Sunday, November 13th beginning at 5:30 PM at Rivera Family Funeral Home. A Rosary will be prayed at Rivera Family Home on Sunday, November 13th at 7:00 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 14th at 10:00 AM at San Juan Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh. The burial will follow in Cebolla, New Mexico. Serving as pallbearers; Vincent Baldonado, Terrance Baldonado, Herold Baldonado, Arlen Garcia, Andrew J. Chavez Jr., and Alvin Johnson; honorary pallbearers are; All her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The Family of Sally Garcia has entrusted the care of their loved one to Rivera Family Funeral Home of Espanola.
