Sally Russell

Sally Russell, 70. Sally brought so much joy and laughter to so many lives. She passed away peacefully at home on September 26th in Llano Quemado, surrounded by loving family and friends.

Raised in Denver with five siblings, she moved to Venice Beach, CA, and loved owning her first hair salon, Hair Dues.

It was in Venice that she discovered her love of painting. She moved to Taos and relished painting amidst the Taos Art Community. Sally also enjoyed skiing, hiking, hosting parties, and cruising around town with her three Shih Tzus in her red convertible wearing her wide-brimmed hat. Besides being a painter, her creativity flourished in the kitchen and garden. She is survived by four siblings, a son and two granddaughters. Sally's family extends heartfelt gratitude to Mountain Home Healthcare, Taos Elders and Neighbors Together (TENT), and her many loving friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Stray Hearts Taos Animal Shelter and TENT will be appreciated. A memorial service will be held at a later time.
