Sally Salgado

Sally V. Salgado, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully with close family members by her side on September 30th, 2022; Sally would have been 94 years old this month. She loved to share stories with her family about spending time in Mexico with her grandmothers, growing up in Chicago and how she met her husband of 63 years, Herbert “Chino” Salgado Sr. playing bingo. After living in many cities, they settled in Santa Fe.

Sally was always the life of the party and enjoyed spending time with her family and celebrating holidays, birthdays and many milestones in all of their lives. She will be remembered for being honest, strong and always having something funny to say! Anyone who knew Sally, knew how much she loved cooking for her family and everyone that came to her home to visit; especially tamales and posole during the holidays! She also spent her time gardening, knitting and playing card games.

Sally will always be loved beyond words and will be extremely missed by all those who were fortunate enough to have her in their lives. We can find peace in knowing she has joined her “Chino” in heaven and find comfort in her long-lasting memories that she has left us with. Sally will remain in our hearts forever.

Sally is preceded in death by her husband Herbert “Chino” Salgado, Sr. She is survived by her sister Olga Velasquez and children Rebecca Salgado, Gloria Martinez, Herb Salgado (Judy), Susan Salgado, Andrew Salgado (Victoria), her 13 grandchildren,21 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers: Herb Salgado, Herbert Salgado, Syler Salgado, Andrew Salgado, Andrew Salgado, Jr. and Armando Salgado.

 Viewing is at the Rivera Funeral Home in Santa Fe on October 16th from 3-6 p.m.

Rosary is October 17th at 9:00 a.m. at Santa Maria de la Paz Catholic Church in Santa Fe. The funeral Mass will follow.

Interment is at 11:30 a.m. at Rosario Cemetery in Santa Fe.

Reception to follow at 1:30 p.m. Elks Lodge in Santa Fe.
