Salvador Arellano

December 10, 1928 — February 18, 2016

Salvador E. Arellano, age 87, beloved husband and father passed away in Santa Fe, New Mexico on February 18, 2016. He was born to Manuel and Juanita Arellano in Los Angeles, California on December 10, 1928. He was raised in California and joined the Air Force in April 1948 achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was an architect for most of his professional life. Upon retiring to New Mexico he took up the art of tinsmithing. Salvador and Viola Helen Robles were married on June 20, 1953. Salvador is survived by his wife Viola of 63 years, and their three children, Michael (Judy), Vincent, and Helen (Luis), 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, brother Manuel (Annie) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Dolores. He was an active member of the Holy Name Society, a member of The Children of Mary and member of the Knights of Columbus for over 30 years. Viewing will be Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the Kiva Chapel of Light, 417 Rodeo Rd., Santa Fe, NM. A Rosary will be recited Friday, February 26, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 at Santa Maria de la Paz. Interment will be at 11:15 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
