Samuel O. Angel, 58, was called to be with our Lord and Savior on June 6, 2019 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Albuquerque NM on May 13, 1961 and was raised in Las Vegas, NM.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gloria Angel and Joaquin Rodriguez; maternal grandparents, Tomas and Mary Angel; paternal grandparents, Manuel and Katalina Rodriguez; and in-laws, Lloyd and Bertha Tafoya. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jeanne Angel; two daughters, Samantha and Breanne; one sister, Rachel (Joseph) Angel; brother- and sister-in-laws, Wayne and Christine Tafoya; and many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Sam was employed by Coca Cola Bottling for 25 years and made a lot of friends throughout his career. Sam worked hard to provide for his family to make sure they were well taken care of. He refused to stop working, even though he was ill and had to use oxygen 24/7.
Sam was an avid sports fan and loved watching his Denver Broncos. He participated in football and basketball from middle school to high school. He also loved music, from rock to Motown funk. Whenever he heard a song he liked he would start clapping his hands and moving his feet and sing loudly for everyone to hear.
Sam loved his fried potatoes and cheeseburgers and had a sweet tooth. He loved his dogs Sophie and Gizmo and would sneak them food when no one was watching. He also loved his custom chopper and was always messing with it and revving the engine loudly to scare the neighbors.
Sam recently celebrated 30 years of marriage to Jeanne. He was her gentle giant and the love of her life. Jeanne loved him with all her heart and soul. He always thanked her for taking care of him. Sam adored and loved his daughters very much. He was very proud of their accomplishments and there was nothing in this world he wouldn't do for them.
Sam leaves a legacy of love and integrity with his family and those who knew him. He left behind wonderful memories of a loving husband and father. We are grateful for each and every day we got to see his glowing smile and feel his tight bear hugs.
