Sandra Hoffacker

Sandra Hoffacker was born March 6, 1949 in Bradford, Pennsylvania and passed away on August 12, 2022 at Enchanted Living of New Mexico in Albuquerque. At her side were her brother Ben, his wife Theresa and Dr. Rosemary DeCosta. Sandra lived a robust life in barns and fields across Pennsylvania and New Mexico. Her love of horses was a constant joy in her life and she preferred to be outside working on her ranch, tending to her horses and being in nature. Sandra retired with 25 years of service from Solebury School in New Hope, Pennsylvania. While living near Cerrillos she volunteered at the Cerrillos State Park where she loved telling the history of the area. Sandra will be remembered by most as loving and kind to everyone. Sandy was always ready to step us and tackle things whether it was in the kitchen, on the ranch or at Solebury School where she was instrumental in “reviving” the institution for future students. Sandra is survived by her mother Isis Melhado of Canton, N.Y., and her step-mother Rae Hoffacker (Peter Papas) Brothers: Ben Hoffacker, III (Theresa), Charles Hoffacker, Matthew Hoffacker, (Beth). Half-sisters-Troby Parrish and Mimi Key. Neices: Kelly Gonzales (Steven), Carly Harriss (Matthew), Jessica Key, Logan Key, Abby Hoffacker. Nephews: Charles (Beau) Hoffacker, (Becca), Benjamin Hoffacker, IV (Antoinette Martinez), Patrick Hoffacker, and Erik Sena. Great-nieces & great nephews: Lilly, Asah and Rio Gonzales, Ethan Hoffacker, Oceanna Key, Aurora Harriss Declan Harriss, Alyssa and Howie Sena.

The Family would love to give a heartfelt thank you with much gratitude to Dr. Rosemary DeCosta, her husband Sam and daughter Danielle, for the exceptional care they gave Sandy at Enchanted Living of NM in Albuquerque. In addition, thank you to High Desert Hospice, Theresa Wright and the staff at Central Desert in Albuquerque, The Kingston in Santa Fe and St. Vincent’s Christus.

A memorial celebration will take place on September 24, 2020 at the Cerrillos Hills State Park from 1:00-4:00 pm.
