Scott E. Jones, 61, of Santa Fe passed away on December 12th at his home. Scott was born November 1st, 1959, in Santa Fe to Wirt and Muriel Jones. He went to Santa Fe High School and graduated in 1977, before continuing his education, earning a degree from New Mexico State in Las Cruces. Scott spent 25 years working for the state of New Mexico as a facilities manager, meeting lifelong friends along the way.

Scott married Margaret Silver Jones on April 13th, 1991. They spent their time together playing many tennis matches, traveling the world and creating lifelong memories with family and friends, especially their daughter Alyson. Scott was an active member of Temple Beth Shalom, serving on many volunteer boards and always helping around the building. When Scott wasn’t working or with friends and family you could always find him in the garden, he loved his time as a Master Gardener and volunteered at the Rose garden, always building beautiful landscapes.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents Wirt and Muriel Jones, his father-in-law Abe Silver Jr., and his brother Richard Jones.

Scott will be missed dearly, he was both fierce and graceful throughout his battle with prostate cancer. He will leave a legacy filled with love for family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any of the many organizations near and dear to Scott and family; Temple Beth Shalom, American Cancer Society, or a local organization dear to you. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Del Corazon Hospice, especially Tony, Ted and Don.
