Scott Koppelberger

d. May 30, 2008

Scott L. Koppelberger September 6, 1967 ~ May 29, 2008 Scott died at home on May 29, 2008 after a valiant 2 year battle with cancer and a lifetime of other illnesses. He leaves behind his sisters Anne Ostby (Kevin) of Grand Blanc, Michigan, Lisa Kolberg (Bill Salopek) of Santa Fe, Amy Kolberg of East Lansing, Michigan; nephews Justin Kolberg (Cynthia Rahrig) and Collin McAvinchey; great nephew Jack Kolberg; nieces Kristin and Ingrid Ostby , Alexa McAvinchey , and Kira Curtis; his mother, Margaret Koppelberger of Flint, Michigan; and many loving cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his adoring father Harold L. Koppelberger. Scott's passions were his cars, his motorcycles and cooking. Heaven for Scott is working on an old Chevy with Dad in the garage. We know that is where he is now with a big smile on his face. Scott's favorite times were those spent laughing with his sisters, Anne and Lisa. Scott loved to cook with his sister, Lisa, in the home they shared together in Santa Fe with Lisa's children, Collin and Alexa McAvinchey. He and Lisa loved gardening together and this year every tomato, if Lisa can grow them without Scott, will be filled with the life and love of Scott. Scott will always be remembered for his tenacity and perseverance. Although his stubbornness could be known to get in his way, it came in handy with his lifelong series of major illnesses. Scott's brilliant wit will be missed every day by all who loved him. Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 7:00 pm at 320 Cadiz Road in Santa Fe, NM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Santa Fe (UUCSF); Scott Koppelberger Memorial Fund; 107 W. Barcelona Rd., P.O.
