Seferino Salazar, Jr. – Age 76 a resident of Los Luceros passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2007 following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents: Seferino and Candelaria Salazar; grandparents: Silveria and Urban Martinez; brothers: Leandro, Bernardo "Gito", and Phil Salazar; sisters: Mary Archuleta and Elisa Salazar; and close nephew, Gilbert Valdez. May their souls rest in peace. Mr. Salazar served in the United States Army, he worked for a number of years in San Leandro, CA as a welder and also worked on building roads in Los Alamos. He is survived by his son, Gilbert Garcia; daughter, Jeanette Montoya; sisters: Mercedes Maestas of Ranchitos, Martha Martinez of Alcalde and Angelina Montoya of Los Luceros; brother, Ted Salazar and wife Theresa of Albuquerque; and numerous nephews, nieces, grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Friday, February 23, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo formally known as San Juan Pueblo. Burial will follow at the Alcalde Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Joe Salazar, John Allen Gallegos, Rome Martinez, Kenneth Valdez, Phil Maestas and Randy Maestas.
