Shantel Smith

Shantel Smith, 39 passed away on October 24, 2019, she was born on May 10, 1980 in Santa Fe, NM to Donna Montoya and Garry Smith.

She is preceded in death by her great grandma; Dulcinea Martinez great uncle; Florian Martinez, and Lawrence Carrillo.

She survived by her Grandma Gloria Montoya, parents; Donna Montoya & Gary Smith,  sons; Estevan Smith, Isaac Valencia &  Daniel Ronquillo, sister; Monique DeHerrera (James Ferguson), nephew; Angelo Valdez, nieces; Mia Ferguson & Julianna Ferguson, grandma; Angie Smith  Auntie; Pam Smith on dad’s side.

Shantel was a beautiful woman inside and out. Her big heart allowed her to be so loving and always willing to help in any way she can; especially with her mother Donna Montoya. She was loved by many and loved many; including her three handsome boys, sister, nephew, nieces, and her dog Zues. Zues was her sidekick and will remain in the family. Donna will love Zues just as Shantel did. Shantel was meticulous in all she did including being a good caregiver, cooking, and home improvements from painting to laying tile. She enjoyed yard work, gardening, and art. Shantel was always one who loved to maintain herself and found joy in makeup, nails, and clothes. She knew what style was. She is going to be missed by many and all of who she was will never be forgotten; including her laugh. God has called a true angel and as heavy as our hearts are now we know she is no longer suffering. She will shine with the angels just as she did with her time here. We love you Shantz!

Her family will begin to greet friends at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 1, 2019 with a Memorial/Rosary at 12:00 p.m. at the Rivera Kiva Chapel of Light located at 417 E Rodeo Road, Santa Fe, NM 87505.
