Our Lord called home Shirley Anne Cordova Saccoccia, 71, on April 25, 2022, after a long illness.
Born and raised in Santa Fe, NM, Shirley worked for the National Park Service in Santa Fe, NM while still in high school, then accepted a position in 1971 with the Government Printing Office in 1971 where she met her husband of 47 years. Ten years and four children later, the family relocated to the Grand Valley of Colorado, where Shirley’s youngest child entered the world. She returned to Santa Fe in late 1989 where she raised her family and later retired. Shirley was a resident of Clayton, NM preceding her death.
Shirley’s ready smile and generous heart attracted many - her “bad days” were better than many people’s “good days”. She constantly put others before herself, especially her husband and her children.
Faith and family were most important to Shirley. Humility and fidelity were among her many virtues. Her warm hugs, inviting manner, and kind spirit are dearly missed by all who knew her.
Shirley is survived by her loving husband Raymond Saccoccia; her children Donna Saccoccia Stone (Ron Stone), Raymond Saccoccia, Jr. (Niki Saccoccia), Shirley A. Saccoccia, Antonio Saccoccia, and Joseph Saccoccia; her sisters Alice Rios and Nancy Salazar, and brother Henry Cordova Jr., and her five grandchildren , Monica, Haley, Lily, Antonia, and William. She is preceded by her beloved parents Henry Cordova and Antonia Cordova, and her brother Gerald Cordova.
A rosary will be held at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (1301 Osage Ave. Santa Fe, NM). There will be a private reception at El Callejon (208 Galisteo St, Santa Fe) Arrangements have been made through Rivera Family Funerals and Cremations (417 Rodeo Rd. Santa Fe, NM).
