Sixto Garcia

Mr. Sixto Garcia (Jose Sixto), 96, of Los Brazos, NM, died peacefully on March 14, 2011. He joined his heavenly father as his family gathered near his side, to wish him a blessed journey. He was born in Canones to the late Francisco and Eloisa Garcia in 1914. He was a longtime resident of Los Brazos, remaining active through his life until very recently. He treasured his wife Maria, children and all grandchildren, and they treasured him in return. Mr. Garcia was preceded in death by daughters, Stella Ulibarri; Josephine Lovato; son in laws, Everardo Ulibarri; Roy Cowell and Joe Martinez. He is survived by his beloved wife, Maria; children, Cordy Martinez of Los Brazos; Larry Garcia and wife Eva of Santa Fe; Frances Cowell of Chama; Jose Garcia and wife Karin of Longmont, CO.; Doreen Garcia-Trujillo and husband Leon of Los Lunas; sister, Rosa Moya of Aztec; 20 dear grandchildren, 43 dear great grandchildren, 12 dear, great great grandchildren, special nephew, Jose Angel Garcia of Utah; special, neice Annie Giron of Utah; numerous nephews/neices and other relatives and special friends: Maggie and Billy Terrazas of Los Brazos; Tony Martinez of Canjilon and Joe Valdez of Los Brazos. Recitation of the Rosary was held Friday March 18 at San Jose Catholic Church in Los Ojos, the Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday with interment to followed at the Catholic Cemetery in Los Ojos. Serving as pallbearers were: Everardo Ulibarri, Tony and Damian Martinez, Larry Garcia, Jr., Trevor Quintana and Julio Reza.
