Soleme Cordova

Soleme Maria Cordova, age 95, of Chamisal passed away on October 22, 2020. She resided in Santa Fe, NM. Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend was called home and was greeted at the gates of heaven by her husband Melecio Cordova; son Fred Cordova and daughter Juanita Cordova; parents Amadeo and Margarita Martinez, brother José Victoriano Martinez; sisters Julia Leyba, Mariquita Ortega and Flora Gonzales; grandson’s Jody Romero, Joseph Herrera and Marvin Pacheco; great great-grandchild Mark Anthony Quezada, great-grandchild Esperanza Varela.

Soleme is survived by sister Frances Arellano, Rio Rancho; her son Clarence Cordova, Santa Fe; daughters Susie Pacheco, Bernalillo, son-in-law Henry Pacheco, Rio Lucio; Bernice Martinez(Frutoso) Española; Teresita Cordova(Antonio) Rowe; Nary Herrera(Ted) Colonias; Dorothy Romero(Jessie) Truchas; Judy Ruiz(Marcial) Colonias; Angie Lujan(Raul) Pojoaque. She is also survived by a beloved niece Mary Torres(Joe) Longmont, Colorado. Soleme Maria was also blessed in life with twenty-six grandchildren, fourty great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren and numerous loving relatives and friends. 

She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a devoted homemaker all of her life, hardworking and loving mother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A special thanks to all of her caregivers, hospice, and nurses for all your love and support. The family would also like to thank all family and friends who assisted with the care of our beloved mother.

Private family services will be held due to current circumstances as follows:

A Rosary will be recited on Friday, April 30th, 2021 at 10:00am at the Rivera Family Funeral Home located at 305 Calle Salazar, Espanola NM 87532. Followed by a Mass at San Antonio De Padua Parish at 1:00pm at N. Highway 75, Penasco, NM 87553. We will then be taking our beloved Mother to her final resting place at the Lower Chamisal Cemetery for burial.  “Until we meet again, vaya con Dios our beloved Mom!"
