Stanley E. Chance, age 79, a long time resident of Los Alamos, passed away July 1, 2011, at home surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Boothwyn, PA, on June 17, 1932. Stan served in the USAF from 1951 to 1955. He was a Korean War veteran. Stan worked for the University of California for 21 years and retired from the Los Alamos National Laboratory in 1997.
Stan enjoyed gold panning, fishing, golfing and spending time with his family. He is survived by his daughter Beverly Duncan and husband Ken, son Randy Chance and wife Julie, grandchildren Tyler and Megan Duncan, Chelsea, Taylor and Kimberly Chance, sister; Peggy Chance, brothers Jim, Don, Norman (Pete) Chance and sister-in-law Wilhelmine Chance. Stan was preceded in death by his wife Louenda (Linda), parents Joseph E. and Hilda and brother; Joseph Chance.
A memorial service will be held on July 14, 2011, at 2:15 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
