It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stephen Joseph Babcock (Joe), a beloved son, brother, father, uncle and friend, on January 19, 2025, at the age of 40. Joe was born on February 16, 1984, in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Joe spent many years working alongside his father, grandfather, uncles, and brother-in-law at Babcock Construction before answering a greater call to serve his country by joining the Army. With dedication and excellence, Joe was quickly promoted to Sergeant, demonstrating bravery, strength, and courage throughout his military service, and his life.
Joe had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and found peace in nature. Whether fishing in the river, hunting in the woods, or camping and boating with loved ones, Joe embraced every opportunity to connect with the natural world. These passions brought him countless cherished memories and strengthened his bonds with family and friends.
Above all, Joe’s greatest joy in life was being a father to his beautiful daughter, Kailey. She was his pride and joy, the light of his life, and his unwavering devotion to her will forever be remembered. Joe’s warm smile, and remarkable sense of humor left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
