Steven Griego

Steven (Steve) LeRoy Griego born April 5th,1956 went to his Heavenly home April 19th 2024  surrounded by his loving family. Steve married the love of his life of 41 years Christina Cardenas and together had two daughters Amanda (James) and Jerica (Manny). Steve is proceeded in death by his father Nash Griego, maternal and paternal grandparents on both Lucero and Griego side, father and mother in law Juan and Cirilia Cardenas, dearest uncle Fredrico Griego, and numerous sister and brother in laws. Steve is survived by his wife Christina, daughters Amanda (James), Jerica (Manny), grandchildren Isabel (Oscar), Ethan, Jayden, Alysia and James Jr., mother Sylvia, sister Eileen, brothers Paul and Leonard (Tina), brother in law Johnny Cardenas (Joann), sister in laws Liz Vigil, Agnes Alarid. and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Steve was an avid fisherman, storyteller and a friend to many. Steve loved to be around people, especially when he and Christina were at the casino. He was beyond proud of his hitas and his grandchildren. He was also very proud of his son James. He loved him like his own. He told everyone and anyone who would listen how his James was a real man. Anytime he ran into a friend you were sure to hear stories of any of them and what he was looking forward to for them for their futures. Steve was always willing to help anyone in need, he had a heart of gold. He retired from the DOT after 30 years and continued working here and there. Special thank you going out to The Hospice staff at St. Vincents for the awesome care. Margie and Lorenzo Morrison for the food, and Carmen Griego for the food.  

Services will be at St. Annes on May 15th at 9 am for the rosary and 10 for services, reception to follow at St. Annes Hall.
