Steven Joseph Duran

Steven Joseph Duran (Steve), age 81, of Santa Fe, New Mexico, went to be with our Lord Sunday morning, March 21, 2021.  Born May 21, 1939, he was preceded in death by his father Alfonso Duran and his mother Eloisa (Gallegos) Duran along with his brother Bernie Duran and his sister Virginia Jackson, and great granddaughter Amorette Duran.

Steve served in the U.S. Army in Korea, was an Estimator for Builders’ Specialty Service and retired with Empire Builders in Santa Fe.  He enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Rosaline Carmen Duran and his sister Irlin Corn, Sylvia (Ricardo) Garcia, Margaret Rael, Lorraine Rael, Marie (Lee) Martinez, Patricia Abeyta, Terry Abeyta, Martha Abeyta: along with five children; Liz Duran of Las Lunas, New Mexico, Steve Duran Jr of Santa Rosa, California, Daniel (Sandy) Duran of Galisteo, New Mexico, Diana Duran-Moncada of Santa Fe, New Mexico and Marcella (Abel) Duran-Ochoa of Santa Fe, New Mexico; 11 grandchildren, Lizzie (Nick) O’Neil, Shawna Crawford, Diana (Daniel) Crawford-Mock, Steve Duran III, Brendan Duran, Cayetano Duran, Angela Moncada, Christopher Moncada, Amanda Moncada, Antoinette Duran and Bernadette (Jonathan) Duran-Noriega; 12 great-grandchildren; Nicki, Riley, and Ronan O’Neil of San Diego, California, CJ Moncada, Jadah Moncada, Amara Maez-Moncada, Ariyah Montoya, Allie Moncada, Caylee Duran, Eleah Duran, Jonathan Noriega, and Rosalie Noriega, and many other loving nieces, nephews, and relatives.

Memorial services for Steve Duran will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, March 31, 2021 starting with the Rosary at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on 1301 Osage Ave, Santa Fe followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 am.  Burial will follow on Thursday, April 1st at the Santa Fe National Cemetery located at 501 N Guadalupe St.  There are occupancy restrictions at both the Church and the Cemetery so please call ahead if you are planning to join the family.
