Steven Torres

Steven (Estevan) Ruben Torres passed away peacefully at home on December 31, 2016 after a lengthy illness. He was born on August 24, 1973. He is survived by his parents Cel and Tina Torres; daughters Jesalyn Santistevan, Carmen Salazar, Angela Jones and granddaughter Estrella Salazar; sisters Roxanne Torres (John) and Rachel Romero (Wayne); his girlfriend Krystella Salazar and her sons Joaquin (Nicole) Salazar, Rick (Marissa) Romero and little Marisio. Nephews and nieces Michael Perea (Candice), Carlos Romero, Andres Romero, Krystal Reynolds and Mia Romero, and great-nieces Kennadie and Olivia Perea. Steven is also survived by his uncles and aunts-Teodoro Torrez, Timoteo Torres, Molly Pacheco, Tina Barela (Mario), Addie Garcia, Julia Williams, Angie Romero (Aaron his NINO), Louella Martinez (John), Henry Valerio (Josie), Ray Valerio (Diana), Tony Valerio (Teresita ), Ben Valerio (Juanita),Tere Valerio and numerous cousins, friends and acquaintances. Steven is preceded in death by his paternal Grandparents Manuel and Eutilia Torrez; his maternal Grandparents Leonardo and Claudina Valerio, and Emilina Valerio, his uncles and aunts- Charlie Torres, Lalo Valerio Jr., Robert Williams, Leo Garcia, Juan F Pacheco, Manuelita Torres, Celina Torrez and his God Parents Teodoso “TJ” and Isabel Garcia. Steven loved to be in the mountains- he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and hauling wood. No matter how sick he felt, when asked how he was feeling his reply was always “not as good as some, but better than most.” Rosary was recited on January 5, 2017. Funeral mass was held on January 6, 2017. Both were held at San Francisco de Asis Church with interment following at the Llano Quemado Cemetery. A celebration of Steven’s life was held at the Llano Quemado Community Center.
