Susan Batista

Susan Batista, resident of Hernandez, age 74 passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018 in Espanola. Susan was born in Roy, NM on June 13,1943 to her parents, Elena Sandoval Gallegos and Luis Gallegos. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Gertude Rael of Espanola; Grandsons :Michael Audelio Maestas, Charlie Maestas and Jacob Maestas all of Hernandez. Susan is survived by her husband, Beltran Batista; Daughters, Joann Maestas, Geraldine Lopez and Veronica Batista; Sons, Evaristo Lopez (Mamma’s Boy) and Willie Batista; Sisters, Maryann Gurule, Vicky Espinoza and (Percy), Sara Herrera, Lucy Perea, Dolores Gallegos, Terry Ramirez and Agnes Lopez (Orlando); Brother, Johnny Gallegos (Rose). Susan is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 70 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Susan was a loving person and believed in God with all her heart, she was loved by thousands of people and she had an affect on all her family in her own way, she loved doing Karaoke on Sundays with her son Evaristo, she was loved by each and everyone especially her grandchildren . She was known as 'GRANDMA' to many! She will be dearly missed Serving as pallbearers will be, Evaristo Lopez, Carl Lopez, James Lopez, Luis Mendez, Chris Manzanares ,Isaac Pana, Mikel Croft , Michael Albert Archuleta , Gene Archuleta, Vicente Maestas , Joseph Lopez and Evaristo Lopez, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be all her grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 3PM - 9PM on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 with a Prayer Service and Karaoke Singing beginning at 6PM. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, 10AM at Santa Cruz United Methodist Church, Santa Cruz, NM. Burial will follow in Alcade at the Loma Vista Cemetery.
