Susan Clark

d. June 13, 2014

Susan L. Clark passed away on June 13, 2014 after a short illness due to complications from renal failure. Her mother, Madora Morrow and her father, John M. Clark, preceded her in death. Susan is survived by a son, Luis Vargas, his fiancée Paula Giatan, granddaughter Solidea Suzanna Vargas, step-granddaughter Aurelia Cebada, and step-mother Rosamaria Ellis Clark, of Taos, NM; a brother, Roger Brian Clark and his wife Lynne Clark, nieces Heather Henderson, Amanda Clark, nephew, Gable Clark of Midland, Texas; nephew Joshua Clark of Lubbock, Texas; many cousins, including Laury Alexander (su hermana) of Albuquerque, NM; Betty Clark and Pat Clark of Oklahoma. Born in Midland, Texas in 1957, Susan graduated from Lee High School in 1974 and the University of New Mexico, with distinction, in 1988. She became a permanent resident in Taos, NM in 1988. Following the death of her father, she joined the family business, John M Clark Inc, on the board of directors and as Vice-President. Susan was a talented artist who taught herself the techniques, as well as the history and the science, of the art she created. She was especially known for her handmade paper work and her slumped glass tiles, tableware, and jewelry. Until her last moments her creativity continued to evolve, her free and loving spirit expressed in each piece. There will be a celebration of her life on July 25, 2014, from 5 to 8 at the Sagebrush Inn.
