Sylvia Diamond Elliott
Died June 10, 2012 in the presence of her husband and daughter.
"She was a fighter to the end", said her attending oncologist. Sylvia grew up in Claremont New Hampshire where she graduated valedictorian of her 1961 high-school class. After her undergraduate degree in Biology from Simmons College in Boston, she joined an advanced degree research technology program followed by seven years of doing and assisting in research in gastroenterology and brain metabolism at Yale-New Haven Medical Center.
Sylvia is survived by her husband of 43 years Jim Elliott, her daughter Jennifer, son Stephen, seven grandchildren plus two adopted, and her sister Donna Cover. Sylvia had a deep faith in God, a loving heart, a feisty spirit and an ardent sense of citizenship.
Sylvia's burial service were led by Rabbi Schwab at Memorial Gardens section of Santa Fe Funeral Options on June 12, 2012.
An additional memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Santa Fe Sunday June 24 at 2:00 PM.
