Teodosia O. Marquez

Teodosia Marquez – Age 94 a lifelong resident of El Rito passed away on Monday, January 24th, 2006 at the Española Hospital, following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Jose Tomas Marquez in October 1989; her infant son, Tomasito; mother, Erinea Ortiz; brother, Solomon Ortiz; sister-in-law, Rosarito Silva; sons-in-law: Mike Gallegos and Joe M. Trujillo; 2 grandsons: Larry Alire and Anthony Gallegos; and great grandson, Larry Ocaña. She is survived by her daughters: Juanita Alire and husband Aniceto and Amelia Trujillo all of El Rito, Celia Trujillo and husband Mike of Glendale, Arizona, Marcelina Gallegos of Los Alamos and Grace Martinez and husband Roberto and Mary Vigil and husband Leonard all of Española; 2 sons: Tomas Geronimo Marquez and wife Linda and Max Marquez and wife Vangie of El Rito; granddaughter she raised as her daughter, Elizabeth Garcia and husband Noberto of Rio Chama; close niece, Lupe Gonzales and husband Donald of Santa Fe; 30 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A second rosary will be recited on Thursday, January 26, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at the San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 27, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the El Rito Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Tony Jaramillo, Gonio Trujillo, Max Marquez Jr., Leonard Vigil Jr., Toby Alire and Christopher Marquez. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
