Teresa Martinez

Teresa Nicole Martinez 46 passed away on 02/17/2025 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Teresa was born on 09/20/1978 to Jennie and Pedro Martinez. Teresa is preceded in death by her mom Jennie Martinez, father Pedro Martinez, brother Mario Martinez, maternal grandfather Sixto Martinez, maternal grandmother Catalina Martinez, maternal auntie Zelda Jiron and many other family members who passed before her. Teresa is survived by her only son and loving care giver Santiago Rael and sister Patricia Martinez (Alan Manzanares) and nephew who she loved dearly Mario Manzanares. She is also survived by maternal Uncles Benny(Louise), David(Patsy), Danny, George, Albert(Maria) and Victor(Helen)Martinez. Aunts Rose Griego, MaryAnn Martinez, Dorothy Fresquez, Vern (Mark)Clayton, Ruth Romero, Carol (Paul)Butcher, and many beloved cousins, family members and close friends. Teresa grew up in Española, New Mexico where she performed well academically and was very book smart. She was involved in sports; she played basketball for Fairview Elementary and Española Junior High. Teresa and her sister also played little league for Dandy Burger and later softball with all her aunties. Teresa had a love for softball and enjoyed coaching and playing softball with “The Mudder Fudders” with her sister Patricia. Teresa also had an immense love for music, most notably, Spanish, Country, and Classic Rock. Teresa was an employee of the State of New Mexico Taxation & Revenue Department for 22 years, Her strong leadership skills and witty personality gained her a close following within her workplace where many coworkers had become family, If there was anything to know about Teresa, was that she was a warrior who was powered by her faith in God and the love she had for life and her family. Teresa will be deeply missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing her and a special Thank you to her son Santiago Rael for taking such wonderful care of her through all her health issues. He became her stay at home caregiver providing dialysis and more while caring and loving her through it all. Services are as follows: Memorial service will be Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 11:00am with reception to immediately follow at The Light at Mission Viejo (4601 Mission Bend, Santa Fe, NM) Teresa's favorite color was royal blue so please feel free to wear that color if you wish.
