Theodore Cordova

February 14, 1934 — October 21, 2022

Theodore Anthony Cordova lived 88 wonderful years filled with family, friends and travel.He passed away on October 20th, 2022 with his loving wife of 62 years at his side. Ted was originally from La Junta, Colorado. He joined the U.S. Army after graduating high school. Upon leaving the army, he attended barber school in Tucson, Arizona. After several years, he moved to Grants, New Mexico to work for the Anaconda Mining Company. It was there that he met his future wife, Betty Michael. They married on October 22nd, 1960 and started their family.While working at the mines, Ted attended computer programming school in Albuquerque. This education landed him a job at White Sands Missile Range where he worked on the NASA Apolloproject. In October, 1970 he and his family moved to Espanola, New Mexico and he began work with ZIA and Los Alamos National Laboratories. Ted retired from LANL in 1994 and remained active managing rental property with Betty.Outside of work, Ted was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He loved playing games and was an excellent bowler and pool shark – both skills he developed as a teenager working as a pin boy in the La Junta bowling alley. He developed a passion for Little League while coaching his two sons and realized his dream of attending the Little League World Seriesin 2012.Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Geraldine Cordova and his brother,Forrest Cordova.Ted is survived by his wife Betty Cordova, his three children Geraldine Johnston (Rick), Anthony Cordova and Donald Cordova, his six grandchildren John Michael, Nicholas, Dominick, Danielle,Abrey and Jonathan, his sisters Dolores Baca, Donna Flecksteiner (Bill) and Judy Medina and his brother Juan Cordova (Janie).Services will be held at Holy Cross Church on October 29th at 11:30am (Rosary at 11am).In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation to the Little League Baseball in Williamsport, PA or the American Cancer Society.
