Theresa Archuleta

October 2, 1928 — July 19, 2020

Theresa Archuleta, 91, a resident of Embudo, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 19th surrounded by family. Theresa worked as a Nurse’s Aide at the old Embudo Hospital for many years and at the Espanola Health Department doing what she loved best, helping people.  She loved all of her children equally, always wanting to help raise (spoil) her grandkids Daniel, Daniella and Grace and was a very devoted Catholic. Theresa also loved to tend to her flowers and garden as that was her passion. For the past 18 years she would take the fruits and vegetables of her labor such as peaches and cherries and sell them at the Taos Farmers Market as summer was her favorite time of year.

She was preceded in death by her parents Alfredo and Eufemia Ortega, husband Horacio Archuleta, son-in-law David Vigil, and granddaughter Maria Martinez.

She is survived by daughters, Beverly Archuleta, JoAnn Vigil (David), Vita Vigil (Elias), sons Gilbert Archuleta and LeRoy Archuleta (Donna).  She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and blessed with many more relatives that she thought of dearly.

We would like to thank Theresa Westfall and staff from Rivera’s Funeral Home for their exceptional service in making the funeral arrangements, Tina Marie Gonzales-Probst, Clinical Services Director, from Del Corazon Hospice and her beautiful staff for taking care of her with such professionalism and compassion, Christine Gonzalez for her assistance in funeral preparations, Robert G. Herrera, who was very close to Theresa, for praying the beautiful Rosary with her before and after her passing and Patricio and Shawna Chavez and family for the beautiful handmade urn.  Thank you to anyone that we may have missed for the kind words, flowers, food, prayers and blessings.  They have meant so much to the family during this difficult time.

Public visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2020 from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM at Rivera Family Funeral Home in Espanola.

* Due to the current restrictions with COVID-19 the family has chosen to hold private services*
