Theresa Mcdermitt

Our dear mom (Sam) Theresa Ann Ortiz McDermitt has sadly passed away on July 4, 2023 with her family by her side. 

She was a wonderful mother, who was always there for us when we needed her. She was also a devoted wife, sister, daughter, grandma of 11, and great-grandma of 11. 

She will leave a big gap in our hearts as she departs this world we live in. 

She loved many things, crafting, movie watching, good food, and most of all spending time with her family and loved ones. She always tried to put a smile on everyone's face. 

She is survived by her four children Theresa (Missy) Herrera, Chris McDermitt, Roberta McDermitt Deleplancque, and Jules McDermitt. 

Several Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, too many to name. She loved and cared for them so deeply. She will be missed by her siblings, Rita M. Garcia and Richard Ortiz. Missed greatly by all of us until we meet again. 

She has reunited with her one and only True Love, our father Sidney (Shorty) W. McDermitt to which she was longing for, for many years after his passing. And, also her son, Joseph McDermitt, parents, Art and Teresita Ortiz, and her sister, Gloria Ortiz.  

We all loved her dearly! We will carry her in our hearts until the time comes to meet her with Our Heavenly Father Home in Heaven. 

A Rosary for Theresa will take place at Santa Cruz Church on Thursday July 13 at 10:30am with Mass to follow at 11:00am. Burial will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetary at 2:30pm.

A private Rosary for family will also be held.
