Thomas Johnson

Tom passed away at home on May 18, 2022. He was born July 16, 1946 in Pittsburgh, PA to Jetter and Thomas, Sr. Due to his father's Army career, Tom lived in many locations in US and throughout the world before settling in Santa Fe in 1976 where he began work at LANL. Tom was active in the community as Santa Fe NAACP President, volunteer firefighter, member of Buffalo Soldier Society, Back Country Horsemen, Harley Davidson Owners Group, New Mexico Search and Rescue, Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Posse, and an instructor at SFCC. Tom was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carol, sons Russell (wife Kim) and Sean, grandsons Santos, Sol, Jude and Emmett and sister Bernethia. Visitation will be June 6, 2022 at Rivera Funeral Home at 9::00 AM, followed by internment at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:00 AM and a Celebration of Life at Santa Fe Sheriff’s Posse Building, 3213 Rodeo Road.
