Thomas Mcdonough

December 23, 1944 — May 19, 2023

Thomas Lee McDonough, born December 23, 1944 and adopted on January 6, 1945 (subsequently known and celebrated as "Happy Day") by Corrilea Baldwin McDonough and John (Jack) Ambrose McDonough in Albuquerque, New Mexico, went to be with his Lord on May 19, 2023 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, at the age of 78 years.

He proudly served in his Country in the United States Navy for 4 years in Scotland from 1962 through 1966, working as an Electronic Warfare Specialist in the Submarine Service.

Upon returning from his tour of duty, he met and married the love of his life, Sandra Lee Van Houten-McDonough in 1967. Over their 57 years of marriage, they raised two boys together, David Lee McDonough and Bryan Lee McDonough. In 2021, he discovered he also had a Scottish daughter, Karen Maconeghy, with whom he has grown very fond of, from his time in Scotland in the Navy. He has four grandchildren, Rosanna Maconeghy, Chelsea Young Sargent, Danielle Young Atkins and Parker Lee McDonough, and two great grandchildren, Wyatt Sargent and Anniston Young Sargent.

Tom worked in the computer field until the age of 50, when he reinvented himself, and became a Financial Advisor and Stockbroker for Dean Witter, then Morgan Stanley, retiring from Merrill Lynch in Houston, TX in 2015.

Tom was never afraid to conquer all things in life, and no fish was too big to catch, literally, as he was an avid Bass Fisherman, and fished many Texas Bass Fishing Tournaments. His family would like to think he has gone fishing in the hereafter.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Jack Ambrose McDonough and Corrilea Baldwin McDonough, and his wife's parents, Robert and Elaine Croteau-Van Houten.
