Tomas Chacon

Elijio “Tomas” Chacon, Age 62, went home with the Lord on Oct. 24, 2017. A long-time resident of Santa Fe, NM and formerly of El Rito, NM, he touched the hearts of many and will be deeply missed. Tomas was born Aug. 14, 1955, in EI Rito, NM. He is preceded in death by his Father, Jose P. Chacon; Mother, Anna Maria Chacon; Son-in-Law, Eloy Salazar; Sisters, Aqapita “Connie” Lucero, Joanne Chacon, Prescilla Gaviria; Half Sister, Dumitilia Peterson; Half Brothers, Jacobo and Alfonso Gallegos. He is survived by his Daughters, Annabelle Chacon (Dominic Ramsey), Tomasita Chacon (Michael Roybal) and Sandra Chacon; his Son, Jeffrey Chacon (Tiffany Couret); mother of his children, Rosie Herrera; Grandchildren, Destiny Ornales, Shawntae Velasquez, Elijah Roybal, Damian Roybal, Aleaciah Sanchez, Aldo “AJ” Sanchez and Alonzo Chacon; Great-Grandchildren, Laticia Chacon, Aaliyah, Reina, Heavenly and Melody Ornales, and Josiah Gonzales, all of Santa Fe, NM. He is also survived by his Brothers, Prudy (Carmen) Chacon of El Rito, NM; Joe “Ted” (Irene) Chacon of Marysville, CA; Tony Chacon of El Rito, NM; Fedelino (Tonita) Chacon of Alcalde, NM; Chris (Maxine) Chacon of Taos, NM; Eusebio Chacon (Susana Garcia) of El Rito, NM; and Dale Ben Chacon of Spartanburg, SC; his Sisters, Ermelinda (Allen) Crim of Abiquiu, NM; Beatrice (Andrew) Gonzales of South Shadow Mountain, NM; Tila Chacon (David Suazo) of El Rito, NM; and Lorraine Prescilla Chacon of Belen, NM; special sister-in-law, Mary Madrid; and special long-time friends, Manuel Perea, Julia Sanchez, Carol Leyba, and Gilbert Almazan, all of Santa Fe, NM, and many nieces, nephews, extended family and acquaintances. All services will take place on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, with a viewing at 8-9am in the Rivera Funeral Home in Espanola and procession to follow to the San Juan de Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito. A Rosary will be recited at 10am, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11am, and burial to follow at the Community Cemetery. Serving the family as Pallbearers are Jeff Chacon, Chris Chacon, Jr., Bobby Chacon, Dominic Ramsey, Michael Roybal & Diego Ornales.
