Tony Chavez – Age 76 a resident of La Puebla passed away on Wednesday, October 25th, 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents: Juan Ramon and Enisdel Chavez. Mr. Chavez was a school teacher for 15 years for the Española Public Schools, he was a member of the American Legion, the Disabled American Veterans and was a member of the Honor Guard. He is survived by his wife, Tommie Chavez of La Puebla; daughters: Theresa Chavez-Martinez and husband Jimmy of Chimayo and Dianne Chavez of La Puebla; grandchildren: Melissa Sandoval and husband Randy of Truchas, James Martinez and wife Consuelo of Chimayo, Cristal Valdez and husband Vincent of Chimayo, Joshua Martinez of Chimayo, April Espinoza of La Puebla and David Chavez of La Puebla; great-grandchildren: Kayla and Aleah Martinez and Marissa and Alyssia Sandoval; brothers and sisters: William Chavez and wife Louise of Albuquerque, Ross J. Chavez and wife Ernie of Española, Helen Archuleta and husband Videlio of Los Alamos and Manuel Chavez and wife Elaine of La Puebla; and numerous other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Thursday, October 26th, 2006 at 7:45 p.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, October 27th, 2006 at 8:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Joshua and James Martinez, Vince Valdez, Randy Sandoval and David Chavez and Jeff Chavez. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Melissa Sandoval, April Espinoza, Cristal Valdez and Consuelo Martinez.
