Antonio (Tony) J. Lujan
Antonio (Tony) J. Lujan, 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 8th, 2021, at his home surrounded by his wife, Rose, daughter Bernadette and son-in-law Rick, granddaughters Elysha and husband Bobby Bustos and Sasha Quintana.
Tony was born in Espanola, New Mexico on October 8th, 1935 to Sevedeo and Acension Lujan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sevedeo and Acension, older siblings Martha and Toby who died as children. Also, preceding him in death, sister Cordelia Long, brothers Noe, Benny, and Felix Lujan. In-laws Paul and Ernestine Olivas, brothers-in-law Manny and Pete Olivas and Lennis Taylor. Tony is survived by his wife Rose, daughter Bernadette (Rick), granddaughters Elysha Bustos (Bobby) and Sasha Quintana. Brothers Sevedeo (Jackie), and Toby (Dolly). Brother-in-law Bill Long, sister-In-laws Patty Lujan, Florence Lujan, Carla Lujan, Jennie Olivas, Loretta Olivas and Mary Taylor and his many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Tony served in the United States Air Force from 1956 – 1960 and the National Guard Reserve and took great honor in being a veteran for his country. He was an avid athlete and he loved to play basketball, football and fast pitch soft ball. Tony lived a long and happy life and never met a stranger, he always made a friend wherever he went. He was compassionate, giving and he always made you smile. He loved wearing suits especially on Sunday’s when he would attend church service at the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Los Alamos. He took great pride in his family and his friends, he will be greatly missed.
A rosary and funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 18th at 12:00 and 1:00 pm respectively at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic church in Los Alamos. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 pm, however due to Covid-19 restrictions, it will be a private burial.
Honorary Pall bears will be as follows: Rick Lujan, Steve Long, Ben Lujan, Ryan Lujan, Eric Lujan, Paul Olivas, David Olivas and Adrian Taylor.
The family of Tony Lujan has entrusted the care of their loved one to Rivera Family Funeral Home, of Los Alamos.
