Trevor Keith Skrupskis was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on August 16, 1992. Trevor left us on October 16, 2018 at the age of 26 and is now, finally, at peace. Trevor’s gentle kindness, intentional compassion, and profound intelligence was not meant for this sometimes harsh world. He loved deeply, hurt deeply, and lived deeply. Trevor’s life was complicated by multiple addictions and his soul was often lost, perhaps searching for something greater. They say only the good die young and the phrase has never been truer. Trevor’s family believes he can now find the peace he never could in this world. Trevor’s artistry was most clear while he made music with his friends. He truly loved his band and immediately became immersed in the careful and rewarding process of crafting songs. Recently, Trevor’s family discovered a journal entry Trevor wrote on October 3rd, 2005, describing sincerely how he felt about music, arguing that it could, “make your mind transcend the earthly limitations of mankind.” Life is not measured by the breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away. Trevor’s sarcastic sense of humor and quick wit combined with an elegant vocabulary did exactly that for many even until the end. His death at such a young age leaves a heartache that no one can heal, but love leaves a memory no one can steal. Family and friends are welcome to attend a memorial to be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 6-8 PM at 10025 Boulder St NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114. Please consider donating to resources like Albuquerque Duke City Toolbox, Sage, Centro Savila or others who help change outcomes and improve lives. Blessings to the many who have reached out to us in this difficult time.
