Truc Tran

Truc Quoc Tran of Santa Fe, NM passed away unexpectedly on April 1, 2021. He was 55.

Truc was born in Saigon, Vietnam, son of the late Thieu Nhu Tran and Thau Thi Nguyen. He moved to the United States as a young child with his older sister Kim and brother Phiet on May 1, 1975 to a refugee camp in California. Shortly after, they relocated to Albuquerque. He went to Valley High School in Albuquerque, and studied Biology at Washington State University. After graduation, he moved to Santa Fe working in genetics as a senior technologist and project specialist.

Truc was a world-class traveler and traveled to far-flung places in the world, from Alaska to Svalbard to New Zealand. He was loved for his kindness, generosity and witty humor.

Truc is survived by his wife Cailan Su; step-daughter Luwen Huang; sisters Kim Tran and Anhdao Tran; brother Phiet Tran; and many nieces and nephews. To honor his memory, Truc’s family and friends will be holding a celebration of life service at Rivera Family Memorial Gardens on Saturday at 12pm.
