Velma Abeyta

Velma Abeyta, 54 of Santa Cruz, was lovingly escorted home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on February 22, 2010. Ms. Abeyta was an active member of New Hope Family Worship Center in El Llano. She unconditionally gave of herself and her time when and wherever there was a need. She was a great friend to all and will be greatly missed. She raised beautiful roses and is now tending to her Lord's garden. She was preceded in death by her parents Eduvigen and Teresina Serrano, Brother Chris Serrano, a nephew Jason Lopez and a niece, Angelica Serrano. Ms. Abeyta is survived by her children Eddie Mollohan and companion Elizabeth, Felicia Baca and companion Nelson, Frank Baca, Mariah, Sarah and Marty Baca. Brothers and sisters, Tita Estrada and companion Moises of AZ. Joe Serrano of Santa Cruz, Cynthia Maestas and companion Benjie of Ranchitos, Andy Serrano and companion Margaret of Santa Cruz, Geraldine Lopez and husband James of Santa Cruz. A very special friend, Armando War of Hernandez, and a special niece Jessica Medina of Ranchitos. A public visitation will not be held, however an evening devotional service will be held on Thursday, February 25 at 7:00pm at Victory Faith Church at 823 Angel Duran Drive, Espanola, NM with Pastor JD Miera and Pastor Isaac Herrera Officiating. A memorial celebration of life will be held on Friday at 12:00pm at New Hope Family Worship Center, 1430 Latia Rd in El Llano, Espanola with Pastor's Isaac and Bianca Herrera officiating.
