Vera L. Martinez

Mrs. Vera L. Martinez, 70, born July 19, 1940 passed away peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer on September 3, 2010. She was preceded in death by her mother Teofila Vialpando, father Jose Vialpando, brothers; Juan, Joseleon, Luniscio Isias (Joe) Vialpando, father in law Elias Martinez and mother in law Susana Martinez. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years Preciliano Martinez, sons; Gene Martinez and wife Rachel of Jacksonville, FL., Heith Martinez and partner Jim of Nambe, Joshua Martinez of Canones and Consuelo Salazar of La Mesilla, and only daughter Audrey Quintana and husband Pablo of Taos, grandchildren: Jeremiah Martinez and wife Jennifer, Monique Martinez and husband David Uphoff and Pablito Quintana, great grandsons Logan and Jaxon Martinez, Dillon Uphoff and Aiden Martinez-Salazar, sister Maida Garcia of Espanola and brother Richard Vialpando and wife Amada of Canones, sister and brother in laws, numerous nephews, nieces, relatives and friends, special pets: Happy, Chuey, Zeke and Harley. Family & friends will be gathering to celebrate the life of Vera L. Martinez on Friday September 17th at 9:30 am. at the family property in Canones-located at Rio Arriba County Road 194, house # 334. A potluck lunch will follow at the community center in Canones.
