VERA M. ALCON Age 80 of Chama, NM passed away on Monday February 21, 2005. Ms. Alcon owned and operated "Viva Vera's Mexican Kitchen" in Chama for 42 years, and developed a steady clientele serving delicious homemade Mexican food.She was born June 3, 1924 to Fabian and Josefa Madrid in La Puente, NM. and was preceded in death by them. She is also preceded in death by her grandson Lawrence Garcia, son in law Ray Garcia, Sisters Rosana Gonzales, Genevieve Suazo, Frances Martinez, Reyes Romero, Bessie Maestas, and Juanita Ulibarri. She is survived by her three daughters; Susie Garcia , Mary Ann Salazar and her husband Eliseo , Patricia Baeza and her husband Tommy, and her son Alex Alcon all of Chama. She is also survived by two sisters; Elsie Gomez and her husband Elfego of Colorado Springs, CO., and Cora Trujillo of Santa Fe. She was blessed with nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren as well as many other relatives. Public visitation will be held at St. Patricks Catholic Church Thursday from 4-7 pm, with recitation of rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday February 25th at 10:00 Am, both services at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Chama .
