Vernon Cooper

Vernon Cooper, aged 89, passed away in his sleep on July 1, 2017, in Taos, New Mexico. He was born on December 7, 1927 in Shidler, Oklahoma, to Roy and Edith Cooper. After serving in the Navy in WWII, Vernon married the love of his life, Alice Marie Cobb. They had three daughters, seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. He retired from Phillips Petroleum and enjoyed fishing at Lake Amistad and hunting arrowheads. After the death of his wife, Alice, Vernon moved to Georgetown, Texas, where he lived for 13 years. He had moved to Taos in April of this year to be near family. Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a sister, and his wife. He will at long last, join them at Mount Washington Cemetery, Lenapah, Oklahoma. Services are pending.
